E.C. Kidd

Rock of Ages on E.C. Kidd

E. C. Kidd was a San Francisco tattooist that worked on the Embarcadero at #4 and #26. This tattoo location was as close to the San Francisco Bay as any in the city's history. Both Percy Waters and Joe Lieber take credit for the massive "Rock of Ages" on E.C. Kidd's back, however it is unclear who actually did the work. In 1932 National Geographic did an article titled "Out In San Francisco" . It is believed to be E.C. Kidd that is seen as the tattoo artist in this article. To date the Archive does not have a photo of E.C. Kidd’s face.
